We are looking for an OpenShift Red Hat Administrator in Warsaw, PL. This role is on a B2B basis, indefinite contract, with a hybrid schedule: 3 days on-site and 2 days off-site. Only EU nationals are accepted as they will be asked to issue a  security clearance EU CONFIDENTIAL.

Responsibilities

Task 1: OpenShift Administration (approximately 70% of workload)

The aim of this task is to support Application Support Team within DIG Unit at Frontex in monitoring and executing daily
tasks in the area of Systems Administration of OpenShift infrastructure
This task includes the following activities (non-exhaustive list):
a. Management and maintenance of OpenShift
b. Monitoring OpenShift clusters
c. Performing tasks related to the installation of new OpenShift clusters
d. Production and maintenance of documentation for daily operations, e.g. standard operational procedures, checklists,
workflows and diagrams
e. Monitoring and optimizing performance, preparing and implementing automation of tasks
f. Reviewing of logs on servers on a daily basis
g. Identifying issues and risks related to the OpenShift infrastructure and proposing remedial actions
h. Reporting on activities performed under this task

Task 2: Acting as the 2nd Line of Support (approximately 25% of workload)

The aim of this task is to act as the 2nd line of support in the area of OpenShift platform. This task includes the following
activities (non-exhaustive list):
a. Handling incidents and service requests related to applications using OpenShift platform.
b. Troubleshooting and solving of any reported incidents and problems
c. Registering and tracking tickets in the relevant 3rd line support
d. Updating status of the open requests in the ticketing system in timely manner
e. Reporting on activities performed under this task

Task 3: Preparing and performing changes to the OpenShift infrastructure (approximately 5% of workload)

The aim of this task is to participate in the activities of the Application Support Team within the DIG Unit at Frontex in the
area of Systems Administration of the OpenShift. This task includes the following activities (non-exhaustive list):
a. Proposing potential changes in order to improve functioning of OpenShift infrastructure
b. Researching, planning, testing and performing tasks on the OpenShift infrastructure. Implementing related changes like
installing, configuring, tuning, patching, upgrading and securing the platform.
c. Maintaining a log of the OpenShift configuration changes.
d. Updating the related documentation and procedures.
e. Automating, and improving the implementation and configuration of monitoring and alerting procedures.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science (or relevant field)
  • Minimum 7 years of working experience after studies
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Linux system administrator, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Minimum 3 years experience directly working in an OpenShift environment
  • Expertise in with container orchestration framework such as OpenShift
  • Valid Red Hat Certified System Administrator or Red Hat Certified System Engineer certification (strongly recommended)

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS), and experience with cloud-
    based deployments
  • Experience in managing multiple OpenShift clusters in virtual and cloud environment
  • Experience with database administration (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Expertise in troubleshooting issues relating to various aspects of OpenShift environment (orchestration, storage, security)
  • Expertise in monitoring and optimizing system performance, capacity and availability in OpenShift environment
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, with proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar languages
  • Strong automation skills with proficiency in Ansible
